Author Title Type Mystery Book Review Date
Spencer-fleming, Julia All Mortal Flesh   This is a great story, with stunning twists and turns all the way to the end, where you are left holding your breath until the next book comes out...  1/2/2007 15:52
Tapply, William Omnibus   William Tapply has a great hero in Brady Coyne, and with the Omnibus you get three books in the series.  1/2/2007 15:48
Johnson, Craig Death Without Company   Every bit as good as "The Cold Dish" and that's saying something!  4/20/2006 16:47
Rosenfelt, David Dead Center   We love this latest installment of the Andy Carpenter series. It is funny and fast paced.  4/20/2006 16:45
O'brian, Martin Jacquot And The Waterman   A wonderful story set in Marseille, France with a complex plot and great characters. Some have found the ending somewhat disappointing.  3/17/2006 15:17
Johnson, Craig The Cold Dish   wonderful read  3/8/2006 15:59
Melissa Swaim The Finity Case crime  The heroine is autistic, but she can hold her own against the FBI and the mob.  2/13/2006 11:47
Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum Series, All Of Them   Great humorous mysteries, you won't believe it unless you read it.  2/12/2006 12:18
Laura Bradley The Brush-off   First in a series. Lots of fun.  2/12/2006 12:17
Salil Dhawan & Rebecca Baxter The Gopher Mystery novel  Salil Dhawan and Rebecca Baxter have written a fast-paced crime drama with a great many complications to overcome before bringing the real perpetrator to justice. The reader becomes suspicious of several people, before the story comes to a satisfying conclusion.  2/9/2006 07:41
Martha Grimes Foul Matter Satire  Laugh out loud funny. An hilarious takeoff of the New York publishing scene written with her customary skill in creating quirky but credible characters. A most deserving victim meets a most appropriate end.   1/25/2006 05:19
Josephine Tey Brat Farrar Impersonation  It featured the most likeable characters - I have been in love with Brat all my life - in a story of classic revenge and retribution.  1/25/2006 05:12
Laura Halse Anderson Speak   It was an awesome read and has a great story line!  1/21/2006 17:22
Phil Rickman The Smile Of A Ghost   This is the seventh in Rickman's series about the Rev. Merrily Watkins, Anglican priest, mother, widow, sort of girlfriend of a sort of rock star, and official diocesan Deliverance Counselor(p.c. term for exorcist) and it might be his best. As usual there are suspicious deaths, shady characters, eccentrics, political maneuvering both in and out of the church possible supernatural events and loads of suspense. Rickman is not well known in the U.S. I hope that changes. He writes some of the most literate/literary complex mystery/thrillers(I do't know how to classify them) on the market. He is a master of dialogue and the plot twist. Rickman also does moody atmosphere and sense of place incredibly well. I highly recommend this this series!!  1/15/2006 19:46
Coben Tell No One     1/10/2006 18:55
R. Barri Flowers State's Evidence Legal Thriller and Police Procedural  A top notch legal and romantic thriller, pitting two ruthless killers against the system of justice and an Assistant District Attorney and Homicide Detective's exhaustive efforts to stop them before they strike again. Fans of Grisham, Scottoline, Fairstein, and Turow should love this book, as well as the author's other great legal thrillers, JUSTICE SERVED and PERSUASIVE EVIDENCE!  1/9/2006 13:10
Lois Duncan Down A Dark Hall     12/14/2005 15:33
Connelly The Poet     12/14/2005 11:09
Phillis Naylor Shiloh     12/12/2005 19:19
Reick Do You Know Me Now     12/11/2005 14:50
Winspear Maisie Dobbs     12/7/2005 10:45
Barbara Nadel Belshazzar's Daughter Police Procedural  I've been on the hunt for good international mysteries for a few years now and struck gold when I picked up Belshazzar's Daughter. The story line, the exotic locale of Istanbul, and an truly original hero (Inspector Ikmen) made it one of my favorites of the year. The author has written 8 books in the series. Only 3 have been translated into English. I immediately grabbed another after finishing this one. Now I have to wait for the translations of the rest. But wait with baited breath, I will!  11/29/2005 10:29
Frank Heavey Dying To Sea     11/26/2005 14:20
Caroyn Keene Nancy Drew Files Cozy  I liked it when Bree said she was getting all of these strange letters and she didn't know who they came from. She said she was getting scared too.  11/26/2005 10:49
Linda F. Kennedy Love Birds     11/25/2005 17:17
Robert Liparulo Comes A Horseman action thriller  Edge-of-your-seat suspense, lots of procedural stuff (CSI, sodium amytal) without slowing the pace or tripping up the plot, phenomenal very satisfying ending.  11/24/2005 00:29
J.k. Rolling Harry Potter     11/20/2005 23:36
Carol O'connell Mallory's Oracle Hardboiled  O'Connell has created one of the most complex, mesmerising, frustrating and sometimes frightening female centers of any mystery series out there. If you haven't read a Kathleen Mallory book, you are missing out on one of America's great crime writers. There are times I backtrack just re-read a single beautifully written sentence. Mallory can make you want to slap her on one page one a chapter later you want to weep for the lost, damaged child and the woman she became. Amazing.  11/19/2005 07:55
