C. J. Box is the author of eight Joe Pickett novels, and has won the Anthony, Macavity, Gumshoe, and Barry awards. He has also been an Edgar Award and Los Angeles Times Book Prize finalist. A Wyoming native who lives outside of Cheyenne with his family, Box serves on the board of directors for Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo. Following up on the phenomenal success of his stand-alone Blue Heaven, which spent four weeks on the New York Times extended list, Box brings back Joe Pickett, who is investigating a gruesome murder at a hunting camp.
